Sheets
This is a version of a picture I put in a gallery Hocking Hills Spring 2006 which is a group of pictures taken that year. Mark Zurek, Jim Hartley Smith, b. schlake and myself all met early one morning for a photo shoot. Mark and I got there early and lost but soon found old man's cave and walked around it for about a hour. You can learn a lot about a man by looking him in the eye when talking with them. Was a great trip, this capture was later in the morning just walking along one of the many trails in Hocking Hills Ohio.

Last Season Concert
The Band had it's last performance last night in the gym. This is Ty's last year in the band since he will be graduating and heading off the college next year. Max started in the Clermont Northeastern Marching band, The Rockets this season. This picture was during the game as we waited for the halftime show. Ivan on trumpet.

1892 - 2008
They tore the old church down on River Road, Cincinnati, Ohio. It had no longer been used for about 20 years. A once vibrant place to worship, get married, baptisms, and family functions that use to go on in this once grand old church. Was sad to see it go, I think they saved the bells and of course the stained glass. Time marches on.

Spotted on Anderson Ferry
Early one morning this past week or so, early morning fog. We waited while a few cars loaded and the barge to pass by in the dense early fog. Marvin was talking to the Pilot and he noticed I was taking a picture, Marvin stops in where I work and is a nice fellow. So is the pilot, he is kind of new, always fun to ride the ferry, except in the rain.

Strickland Asks Court To Restore Ohio Grocery Tax
Our benevolent Governor now wants us to pay tax on the food we buy at the grocery store. He is not happy enough with the fact we are one of the highest taxed states in the Union. Now he feels the need to raise our taxes further. People can not afford to go out to eat, where we are taxed, now he wants to do it to us at our own dinner table. He and the others just do not get it, when you raise taxes it gives you only a short income infusion till people start to move to other places where it is job friendly and cheaper to live.
He is showing he is no better than the last slug we had as Governor. He and the rest who got voted in do to the incompetence of the State of Ohio government are showing change is not always a good thing. Our Secretary of State does not seem to care about 200,000 registered voters who's names do not match SS numbers or drivers license information, hell just let anyone vote. Vote twice, three times might as well who cares. We would not want to be sure who you are and keep the state from having a honest election. We would not want to disfranchise anyone, we even let the dead folks vote.

Stairway to Heaven v2
I got up and off to work early to see if I could get a better shot of the full moon and the grain silos on the Ohio River. The area right below where b. schlake and myself work.
I was fighting early morning twilight with a low lying fog that was slowly lifting. The moon was soon swallowed by the fog. Shot was taken hand held with 18-200vr lens. I wish I had taken my tripod since it was darker light than it was last year. But I got lucky and got a guy walking up the stairs. Got a few pictures of him before he walked on.

Time of Year
It is getting to be that time of year for laying on the dock and waiting for the leaves to fall onto Powell Crosley Lake, and I can get my leaf fix. I have enjoyed doing it the last few years, fun and relaxing. I often get odd looks from some people but then I am use to that, worth it for the sake of art.

CNE Home Coming 2008
Max went to his first Home Coming dance at Clermont Northeastern High School last night. He seemed to have a good time and his mother was happy to see him go to a dance.
Ty drove him to the dance after Sam and Max all had dinner at Chipotle. After the dance he came home and enjoyed the evening with his friends and brother. He and Ty seem to be growing up so quickly, makes me reflect more everyday.

Beer Booth
One of my favorite places to stop when I go to the festivals. Makes the crowds more tolerable. This young lady was not busy so I thought I would take a second and capture the moment. The Inland Seafood Fest is not always the biggest festival in the area but always fun if you have the time to go. The food is good and the location this year was nice with good views.

Life Before Color
Melissa Howard a dear friend and great photographer does nice B&W art. She saw this one in color and encouraged me to try B&W, so here it is Abner Hollow Cabin in B&W. I hope to travel there this week end for some floating leaf pictures, it is getting to be that season of the year.
